As the countdown to Christmas begins, the annual Christmas Markets start to present themselves in towns and cities across the country!

We begin the season with a festively decorated excursion, picking up from Burton, and stations through Birmingham to Bristol Parkway. Our train then travels along the Great Western Mainline to Reading before heading south to our first destination.

Option A – WINCHESTER (12:50-16:35)
Here there will be around four hours to explore one of the best recognised Christmas Markets in Europe, centred at the magnificent Cathedral with its stunning location and handpicked high quality exhibitors. Winchester has many other historic buildings.

Option B – SOUTHAMPTON
Alternatively, stay on our train which soon arrives at Southampton, where passengers who wish to explore the Port City and it’s Christmas Festivities can enjoy over three hours.

Option C – SALISBURY (13:55-15:45)
Travelling further along the Test Valley, we reach our final destination of the day, Salisbury. Around three hours can be enjoyed sampling the wide-range of city events.

For those of a railway mind, we have added an extra as the train will be hauled throughout by Class 40 No. 40145, courtesy of the Class 40 Preservation Society. This has been exchanged with Class 55 Deltic No. 55009 due to it being withdrawn from mainline service for the time being.
